Clean Blocks
A platform for reporting waste, finding litter hotspots, sharing community stories, and coordinating volunteer cleanups.
The Challenge
Residents often see waste in their neighborhoods but don't have one easy way to report it, track recurring problem areas, or connect with volunteer cleanup efforts.
What I Built
Clean Blocks combines waste reporting, an interactive map of waste hotspots, community stories, and volunteer cleanup coordination in one approachable platform.
My Role
I helped shape the idea through field research, GIS mapping, community surveys, visual design, presentation materials, and public speaking.
Research
I researched litter and illegal dumping in East Flatbush and Flatlands, mapped where waste concentrates, and used surveys to collect community feedback.
What I Learned

The Goal
Make it easier for neighbors to identify problems, report them, see patterns, gather community members, and take action together.
